Common Issues While Using D.C & Fixes

we got reports that some users are facing small issues while using duplicates cleaner, the issue isn’t in duplicates cleaner but regarding some PC configuration, hence we have compiled some of the common issues arising & fixes for them

Common issues arising are below

  • Scanning is halted in the middle of the process
  • Receiving error when trying to delete duplicates found

The common reason for these are regarding “Security settings” on drive, we request to configure them accordingly, please see on how to change the settings Here.

Note: The same fixes apply for Duplicates Cleaner Prime version too.

  1. I purchased DP Prime tonight 7/4/18, and when I went into setting and deleted the Free DP icon, both Duplicate Cleaner Icons were gone. Now I don’t have either one . Did I do something wrong by deleting the Free DP icon? Will I have to repurchase DP Prime again?

  2. I just bought the Prime app to delete duplicate photos and it does not work. the message pop up as the operation failed ! as one or more files have restricted read/write access. what can I do now ?

    1. I have the prime edition. It is beautiful, but I set it to clean one hard drive. It found 30,000 duplicate files. It cleaned the dupes out fine. I have 14,000 files left. It asks if I want backup copies. Yes, I do. So, I am supposed to check the box for the files that I want backed up. Do you really expect me to check the checkboxes for 14,000 files. Ugg. Fix this thing.

  4. Necesito borrar mas de 95 gygas de archivos de música duplicados pero no me lo permite. mi disco duro es de 500 gygas y no he podido cambiar la capacidad de la Papelera de Reciclaje. Ayuda, por favor. Gracias anticipadas.

      Vaya a la configuración de la aplicación y cambie el modo de eliminación de archivos duplicados a “Eliminación permanente”; si aún tiene problemas, háganoslo saber: tenga un gran día 🙂

  5. I have succesfully used your Prime version to search for duplicate images. I then selected back up and they have moved to an external hard drive.
    Am I correct in thinking that I do not have to select – ‘delete duplicates selected’ button as the duplicated original files have already been REMOVED from their original folders and not just COPIED across to the external hard drive?

      The “Backup” procedure doesn’t move the files but copies the files to a safe location so that they can be retrieved later if required, once you had performed a backup you can proceed to click “Delete” to eliminate duplicates, if you still have any kind of concerns feel free to contact us, have a great day 🙂

  6. Hi got 30GB of duplicate folders to delete, it says recycle bin is too small…. do you want to delete permanently, I click yes and then it brings up error …see solution done it twice with same result

  7. these are only some specific files in a folder that cant be processed. so please give us the possibility to skip those files and continue the process until end!

  8. I just want too delete and not recycle, but it still will not let me, even though I set too delete.

  9. I have no idea which files need to be reconfigured. I am just a simple PC user who has not technical talents or cleverness.
